Moving right along in the “Saving Money in/on….” series…
How do we save money on babies?
We/I Already:
- Breastfeed my babies.*
- Feed my older babies table food instead of buying baby food.
- Use cloth diapers (most of the time).*
- Shop at thrift stores.
- Buy quality products so they don’t have to be replaced as often.
- Birth unassisted. (We do not do this because it saves money! But it does happen to have that side benefit.)
- Refrain from buying every bit of baby gear out there. Most of it isn’t necessary. A safe sleeping space, a car seat, and some sort of carrier are the only “gear” I find essential.
*We’ve stopped doing these with Caleb, for various reasons – like that I could no longer provide him sufficient milk, and the adrenal fatigue doesn’t allow me the energy for the extra diaper laundry or wrestling him longer to get him changed – and let me tell you, it is a big difference for the budget!
I Would/Might Like To:
- Get back to using cloth diapers!
I Have Opted for the Investment/Other Values in These Areas:
- Using disposable baby wipes.
- Using disposable diapers in certain situations or during certain periods of time.
