This is a time of year when many of us begin thinking about next year’s goals. (Well, most people think of “New Year’s Resolutions, but goals are more effective than resolutions.) Because we want to start the year off strong, we need to have our goals pretty well determined before January 1st.
To that end, I wanted to talk about goal-setting. Rather than “reinventing the wheel,” though, let me just direct you to a couple of older posts where I describe how to set goals, and where I illustrate the difference between goals and “next actions.”

Breaking Goals Down to Next Actions
In addition, I’ve seen some neat ideas over the years for evaluating or remembering the past year. One of my favorites is Doug Phillips’. I encourage you to read it at least once and see if you can adopt it – or glean from it – for yourself and your family.
Have fun reflecting on 2010 and planning your “fresh start” for 2011!
