As of February 2025, the categories have been reshuffled a bit to make navigation easier. This expands the number of categories from ten to thirteen, but they’re clearer and more intuitive.

Cleaning, Decluttering, & Decorating

Previously Cleaning, Decorating, & Hospitality. (Hospitality posts have been moved to their own section.)

Cooking & Recipes

Covers pretty much anything in the kitchen.  (This includes cookbook reviews, as well as kitchen-specific tips.)

Creativity, Crafts, & Hobbies

For the most part, this new category was split off from Frugality & DIY. Obvious existing art/craft posts were moved here.

Gardening posts are also here (previously under Cleaning, Decorating & Hospitality), as well as genealogy posts (previously with Relationships & Celebrations), and posts about reading (as in mom reading for fun/personal development/as a hobby – formerly under Organization, Time Management, & Productivity).

Fashion & Femininity

Anything having to do with wardrobe planning, makeup, etc. goes here.  And anything about femininity goes here, even if it has nothing to do with clothing.

Finances & Frugality

Formerly Frugality & DIY. (Most DIY posts have been moved.) includes articles about saving money, making money, and making things.  (Most tutorials are categorized with the most relevant subject, but if there isn’t anything more obvious, I’ve put it here.)

Gardening is usually in this category, as it’s a great way to DIY and save money.

Friendship, Hospitality, & Ministry

This new category collects posts that used to be scattered among Relationships & Celebrations; Cleaning, Decorating, & Hospitality; and Theology & Worldview. If it’s related to your relationships with those outside your immediate family, it probably belongs here. Posts about correspondence are under this umbrella. Posts about personality types are primarily in this category, too, since personality affects interpersonal relationships (and they have to go somewhere).

Health & Nutrition

Addresses natural health, nutrition, safety, and emergency-type topics.

Holidays & Celebrations

Formerly Relationships & Celebrations, this category previously was an awkward combination of marriage, adult friendship, family time, and holiday posts. These have now been broken apart into more logical categories.

This category is now pretty self-explanatory, containing posts about holidays and other events such as weddings and baby showers. Gift-centric posts are typically in this category, as well.

Homeschooling & Education

This is pretty self-explanatory.  This does include preschool activities. It also includes college-related posts.  (If you’re looking for homeschooling content, I also have a site for DIY Unit Studies.) 

Marriage & Courtship

This is a new category, broken off from what was previously Relationships & Celebrations. It’s exactly what it sounds like.

Organization, Time Management, & Productivity

This category contains anything to do with organizing “stuff,” time, systems, etc.  If it’s about “managing” things, it’s probably here. Overarching “homemaking” posts that are not specific to a particular aspect of homemaking are also here.

Parenting & Family Time

Includes all things baby.  It also covers parenting topics, as well as toys & play, and family fun (e.g. game night, movie night). Travel posts will also be found here. (Think: vacation)

Theology & Worldview

Includes theological/doctrinal posts, worldview topics, and commentary on the Church.

If it’s politics/current events, it goes here, too.

“Ministry”-related topics (as in things you might do as an individual or family to serve others) used to be found here, but have been moved.
