When my kids saw that The Best Christmas Ever: Junior Discovers Contentment had come in the mail, they squealed – and promptly ran off with it. I never would have thought that budgeting products would cause them so much excitement, but they really love the Junior series. This newest addition is perfect for Christmastime.
Built around holiday happenings (like the massive commercialism of Christmas at the major retailers), it tells the story of Junior’s and Rachel’s greed – and their learning contentment, choosing to help others, and enjoying Christmastime with their family in simple ways.
An audio version of the book is included, on CD, so even non-readers (or new readers) can follow along.
The book doesn’t stop at the story itself, though. The back contains some “bonus material.” There is a countdown to Christmas, with ideas for things to do every day in December leading up to the 25th. Several of the suggested activities are spelled out in detail on other pages so you have instructions. There’s even a list of 10 ways to give at Christmas (or any time).
This is a great way to take advantage of the holidays to teach the important skill/trait of contentment to your children.

[…] Now, I have to tell you that I know a number of people who have gone through this system and rave about it. I know dozens of people who have used it to dig out from under huge debts, who paid for their homes in cash, etc. I have not heard a single person say that they have used this program and not liked it. And I love Dave Ramsey’s tools for teaching our kids! (Even the kids get excited about them!) […]
