I’ve been keeping it real here with my goal posts. As you’ll see if you read back through, I didn’t set goals in April. (Well, not regular ones, anyway. In April I had a few mental goals with regard to preparing for Caleb’s arrival.) I just completely missed June, too. And you’ll see that some of these keep getting rolled over because I haven’t done them yet.
BUT. I still find that I get more accomplished even with my feeble attempts at goal-setting than if I didn’t do this at all. Some things keep getting rolled over, but some are getting done. And there are a few things that I’ve rolled over for eight or ten months – but then finally finished.
So please use this at a reminder that planning is useful, even if the plans don’t always work out quite the way you intended, and that the things you do accomplish should be celebrated, rather than beating yourself up over the things that are still being put off. Life happens, and things change. And, let’s be honest, sometimes we just don’t feel like doing something that we ought to be doing, so we put it off. But that doesn’t take away from the things that are getting done.
If you want to catch up, here are my posts from January, February, March, and May. And now on to July:
- Memorize a Scripture verse. [I would probably get farther with this if I made a list of verses/passages I’d like to work on. Probably should add that (making the list) to my list of goals.]
- Call and get details about CLEP testing.
- Plan 2013-14 school year.
- Set up procedures and spaces for schoolwork.
- Try 4 new GF bread recipes. [“Bread,” by the way, includes yeast bread, rolls, quick bread, pancakes, tortillas, etc.]
- Order/try Kirk’s soap w/ coconut oil.
- Try flax hair gel.
- Create social media marketing plan.
- Make dr’s appts. for Livia, Caleb, & me.
- Finish Christmas list. [In case y’all are thinking I’m completely crazy, this is literally the actual list I’m talking about. I’m not talking about getting everything checked off!]
- Plan Christmas blog posts. [It gets crazy at Christmastime, so I like to get this done in advance when possible.]
- Create new master shopping list.
- Find schedule and begin to implement.
- Replace kitchen checklist.
- Sort/try on clothes & create new wardrobe plan.
- Get the girls on budgets.
- Order blank DVD’s for backing up pictures.
- Print 198 photos. [Yes, I know this is an odd amount. I think I have two coupon codes for 99 free prints; that’s where the number came from.]
- Plan for chore system. (HTDI cards & task cards)
- Work on dishes/dishwasher with Sophia.
- Plan for a dinner prep. w/ Ariel.
- Look over health book again and plan how to proceed.
