Mamas & Papas sent us the Baby Bud to facilitate this review. As always, all opinions expressed here are entirely our own.
Mamas & Papas is a UK-based baby brand that does a fabulous job of creating quality baby products with great attention to detail. The product we’re trying out for this post is the Baby Bud – their newest booster seat. The size range here is really amazing!

My little guy is really little. We’ve had some issues with his not gaining weight (a doctor is monitoring him, so don’t anybody panic!), so he’s pretty tall (almost 26″) but only a little over 10 lbs at 6 months old. As you can imagine, that makes it pretty hard to find things to fit him – whether clothing or baby equipment. However, he has no trouble fitting in this seat. The buckles even get small enough! And yet my chunky 2-1/2-year-old can fit in the seat, as well.
(She was less cooperative with the picture-taking.) In this particular picture, she’s not buckled. (Shhh….) But she can buckle in. Also, she can fit even with the padded-ish insert in place, even though that’s really meant for the little ones. In other words, this seat is plenty big – and still can accommodate a pretty tiny baby.
The tray is ridiculously simple to get on and off. It literally just slides on, front-to-back. There are sliding “switches” on each side to lock it into place, but that’s it. Slide the tray on, push the locks down toward the floor to lock it in place. Ready to remove it? Pull the locks back up and slide the tray off. It’s not exactly a “one-handed” design, but since the locks stay either up or down (you don’t have to hold them while you slide the tray), I don’t see any reason you couldn’t do the whole thing with one hand.
I probably should mention, just to be clear, rather than assuming you know, this booster does strap onto the chair. There’s a buckle strap to go around the back of the seat and one to go around the bottom of the seat, and ours has not budged. It’s quite secure.
This is definitely a sturdy, well-planned booster and I’m confident we’ll get years of use from it!
