Something I’ve noticed over the years is that even boring gifts can be made to look like “more” (in a good way, not in a deceptive way!) just by ensuring a beautiful presentation. Even a bag of M&M’s is more interesting, appealing, and aesthetically-pleasing if the M&M’s are emptied into a glass jar.
Norwex offers a number of great gift items. But some of these are a bit boring on their own. So spice it up! You can easily roll a set of travel cloths into these little roses, for a better “curb appeal.” (I apologize for the quality of these pictures, and ask you to please note that in some of them I am using my left hand to hold in places something I actually formed with my right hand. These are the natural downsides to photographing a project that takes two hands!)
Start by laying the cloth out flat in front of you.
Fold about a third of it over.
Finish fold it into thirds.
Now you have a narrow strip.
Fold the bottom right corner up and in a little (as shown in the picture below).
This just helps add a little shaping.
Begin to roll the strip up from right to left, keeping it a little loose, so you can “scrunch” it in at the bottom.
Continue rolling until you’re almost at the end, then fold the top left corner in before completing the roll.
At this point, there are a few options. I used bamboo skewers as “stems” for these, so at this point…
Insert a bamboo skewer into the bottom-center of the rose.
(Be careful not to stick it all the way out the top!)
Then, holding it firmly, twist-tie the bottom of the rose “shut.”
If you have them, it might work better to skip the skewer and tie these shut with pipe cleaners. (I thought I had some, but couldn’t find them when it came time to work on this project.) Or you could move on from what we’ve done here, to wrap these in florist’s tape so the twist ties aren’t showing!
The makeup removal cloths (or baby cloths) would work well for this, too. You could give them as a set, or you could roll one up into a rose and tuck it in with a tube of natural lipstick or something along those lines.
What can you gussy up to make for a prettier package?

Thank you Rachel forshowing step by step how to make these beautiful Norwex roses. I will try to make them for my daughter’s who are Mothers.
