I received the journal shown below, to facilitate my review. As always, all opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

A Unique & Eco-Friendly Gift
Now this is about as unique a gift as you’re going to find. POOPOOPAPER is actually made out of animal poop. Yep, really.
The main thing necessary for paper-making is fibrous pulp. That pulp is abundant in the dung of animals with certain dietary habits. So the folks at POOPOOPAPER clean it up and use time-tested paper-making methods to create this beautiful, textured paper and a variety of products (notepads, journals, calendars, cards, etc.) made from it.

This particular journal is produced from elephant dung. Other products are made of scat from moose, pandas, donkeys, horses, and cows. (If you want moose, you can find some great Canadian & Alaskan gifts, in particular. If you want elephant or donkey…well, those lend themselves well to some amusing American political commentary.)
This is another of my favorites (I love the silhouette art!), and a fabulous sense of humor comes through in many of the product. (Interested in a “Doo-over“?)

Isn’t this paper just beautiful?! You’d never know it was made from animal poop — it just looks like gorgeous handmade paper. But it’s wonderfully eco-friendly because you’ve got to admit, this is recycling at its finest!

(And just in case you were wondering: it’s completely sanitized. It’s perfectly safe/healthy to handle. It’s biodegradable and can be composted.)
