I was very glad to hear that the Senate did not pass the auto bailout bill. President Bush is apparently pushing for “bailing out” the “big three,” anyway, but he’s looking at using money they already took against our wishes – with the last bailout.
As they already decided to spend it to bail someone out, anyway, it doesn’t much matter to me who they bail out – I think it’s a waste, regardless. I’m very tempted, though, to simply boycott those companies if they’re bailed out – a boycott could communicate to the government that they wasted their time. But that would probably unnecessarily harm the employees of those companies, to I probably won’t. (Not that we’re likely to buy a new car any time soon, anyway.)
We have bigger fish to fry, though, most notably the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child. Now that is a scary treaty, and a very good reason to push for the Parental Rights Amendment.
Hiya I liked your informative blog post on Of Bailouts and Babies. The article was very beneficial for a project I am finishing up for class.
