Having talked about the Government, Church, Missions, and Family sections of my prayer notebook, let’s talk about Friends.

This is a rather vague section of the book, and will vary significantly depending on where you have friends.  This is, essentially, a “catchall” category for those who aren’t part of the other categories.  (For instance, other members of our church aren’t part of this section, even though they are our friends, because they fall under the “Church” section.)  In this section, I have some pages with only one or two people/families on them.  Then there are other pages with whole groups.  (It would take way too much paper and space to give each friend her own page and photo!)  So favorite message boards, for instance, are represented by single pages with groups of thumbnail images of various members.  (Think “avatars.”)  I still am sure to leave room for noting specific requests.

Of course, how we pray for these friends will vary a lot, too – especially if you have friends who are believers and friends who aren’t.  Common sense, the Holy Spirit, and the friends themselves will tell you what their prayer needs are.
