Remembering Ideas
I don’t know about you, but I can’t ever remember from visit to visit the things I intended to keep in mind regarding our vacations. We have a timeshare, so there is one place in particular that we return to, and we have trouble remembering things like what is provided and what we need to pack (as far as paper goods, cleaning supplies, etc.). We don’t remember how much things cost and what attractions are nearby that we haven’t visited yet. And there are places we’d like to go on vacation (not near our timeshare) that I occasionally have notes about and need a place to save.
This is the purpose of designating a place for vacation plans.
What Kinds of Things Do You Include?
What exactly goes here for you will probably be different than for me, but here are some ideas:
- Family Fun articles about locations you might want to visit in the future.
- Timeshare information and/or hotel membership information if this applies to you.
- Telephone numbers/addresses for businesses you might find useful while you’re there. (For instance, I might want to know where the health food store is near our timeshare.)
- Brochures for nearby attractions.
- Notes to yourself of things to remember next time.
- A packing list – either a blank, generic one or one specific to a particular destination, or both.
If you are currently planning a vacation, you can store your travel itinerary, hotel/flight confirmations, tickets, etc. here, as well.
STEP 1: Create a vacation plans section of your household notebook, or designate another place for this information.
STEP 2: If you already have relevant information scattered about, gather it into the “vacation plans” location.
