Think Outside the (Locker)

LockerLookz is a line of decorations made ‘specially for lockers. The locker rugs, magnetic dry-erase boards, mini chandeliers and other decorations are an obvious choice for tweens and teens who have school lockers to decorate.  But before you rule them out because you and your kids aren’t in school, think again!  If you have a locker at the local gym or someplace like that, you may be able to use them (more-or-less) as originally intended.  But even if not, these locker decorations have a plethora of potential uses outside the locker.

Personal Spaces

In a house full of siblings, personal space can be at a premium.  It’s not uncommon for each child to have a single shelf that is hers and hers alone.  (I say “hers” because I’d consider these pretty “girly” decorations.  Most of your boys will probably not be interested.)  Although the decorations (except for the rugs) are designed to be attached to metal lockers by way of magnets, with only minor adaptations (like double-sided tape) they can be used to decorate other spaces, as well.

(My dry-erase board didn’t fare quite as well as the flower with regular double-sided tape.  Carpet tape might be more effective.)

The Refrigerator

The magnetic application of these makes them perfect for the refrigerator!  (Or file cabinet, if you need them in the office.)  And who couldn’t use a dry-erase board or pen holder in the kitchen?

The magnets will stick to each other, too, so you can stick these flower decorations directly to the metal surface, or you can stick them to the other items.

In the Jewelry Drawer

Have you ever seen those velvet-lined jewelry cases?  Well, how about creating your own in a fabulous color?  Line a drawer with one of these fun locker rugs, and the “fur” will help hold jewelry in place.

As Stocking Stuffers & Other Gifts

These decorations make great gifts.  It’s always nice to get as a gift something you don’t need (because maybe that wasn’t in the regular budget), but just like.  These are such a fun way to fill that bill.  Some items, like the flowers and the pencil cup, are small enough to make great stocking stuffers!  (For that matter, while they’re still rolled up the rugs would, too.)

Other items are a little larger but would still make great gifts.  My girls will be getting dry-erase boards and flowers, in colors/prints to suit their respective personalities.

If you just want to throw in a little extra surprise, why not line a box with a locker rug before putting your gift inside?
