I received the matches shown below, to facilitate my review. As always, all opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

If you’re looking for a stocking stuffer for a bibliophile, look no further. I love Out of Print — a company that specializes in products with book covers reproduced on them. This particular product, the Literary Match Book Set, is a lot of fun, especially when you consider the irony.

A set of five matchboxes in a slipcase are designed to look like miniature covers — of books that have been banned at some time, in some place. The irony of matchboxes with a theme of books that are known for being burned…well, that’s just interesting.

The small size, of course, makes these perfect for use as stocking stuffers. And when the matches are all gone, you can hang onto the boxes and use them as “small things” storage. (Buttons and the like, for instance. Although Page Nibs or Book Darts might be particularly appropriate items to store inside!)
