Okay, not really. But I did just finish the first of my Christmas gifts in preparation for the holidays this year. (No, I am not crazy. Yes, I know Christmas is nine months away. But I’m not a quick crafter. lol) Here my daughter is modeling the gift I made for her cousin.

When I saw the Emmeline apron Meg McElwee was creating, over at Montessori by Hand (now Sew Liberated), I fell in love. I preordered the pattern as soon as it was available. It comes only in a single (adult) size, but I contrived this scaled-down version for the little girls, and I was pretty pleased with how it came out. (It worked on the first attempt. For me, that’s really something!) It is reversible, and you can see the other side below. (Sorry about the glare.)

In the spirit of environmental stewardship, I’m attempting to primarily give Christmas gifts this year which are either aids to better stewardship of the environment (reusable items to replace typically disposable things, etc.) or which are re-crafted. In this case, the apron was sewn from thrifted linens (and I have parts cut out and set aside for others, which just aren’t sewn yet).
Cool 🙂 Cute, too. Is it for a cousin I know well, or a Bentley cousin?
It is for a cousin you know well. 🙂
