The red and the silver are now on our Christmas tree in the next stage(s) of our Advent Christmas tree tradition.
Red symbolizes what is in the past – Jesus’ blood, shed for us. We read from passages such as Isaiah 53, and sing carols that speak of Jesus as the Redeemer.

The silver symbolizes the present – our sanctification, illustrated biblically as a “refining of silver.” (See Malachi, for instance.)
Our 8-year-old is learning terms such as justification and sanctification, while the 3-year-old is focusing on ideas such as “Jesus is the Light of the World.”

Love it! Thanks for the ideas and for sharing them~! Merry Christmas!
