This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Puerto Rico, The All-Star Island. All opinions are 100% mine.
Is a vacation on your list of resolutions for 2014? Have you ever considered Puerto Rico?
Travel to Puerto Rico is Domestic
My husband was a Spanish major; Latin American countries are near and dear to his heart. But travel to South America means a passport and all that hassle. Puerto Rico is unique. It is it's own country, and yet it's one of our (the United States') territories, so travel there is considered domestic. It's just as simple as travel to Alaska or Hawaii. (I don't know about you, but although I knew this, I'd never put the pieces together as far as travel is concerned.)
Puerto Rico Has Plenty of World-Class Attractions
Live your own 5-star vacation story in Puerto Rico., with attractions like:
- 270 miles of coastline, including Flamenco Beach in Culebra, often cited as one of the best beaches in the world. (Parts of Puerto Rico were featured in the Travel Channel's Top 10 beaches.)
- bioluminescent bays (Cool!)
- the only rainforest under US national park service, El Yunque
- San Juan (known for its old world charm)
- horse back riding
- Camuy caverns – runs through the 3rd largest subterranean river in the world!
- famous Puerto Rican rums and unique gastronomy
Puerto Rico's tourism website says, "Puerto Rico’s culture is a lively mix of Taíno, African, and Spanish influences. This fusion extends to almost every aspect of Puerto Rican life….Our buildings blend traditional colonial styles with a bright palette of colors." This sounds amazing to me, and I think I would enjoy just riding around seeing the buildings!
