When you see a Pin you like on Pinterest, you have several options. Most people figure out pretty quickly that they can RePin an image to one of their own boards. But you have a couple other options, as well.
You can Like a Pin. Why would you do this? For the longest time, I didn’t understand this option. If I like something, I’m just going to RePin it, right? Well, not necessarily. I still RePin things more often than I “like” them, but I have found that sometimes I really like something but it isn’t relevant to me. For instance, lots of people Pin wedding-related items. I am already married and not planning anyone else’s weddings anytime soon, so I don’t have a wedding board. But I might come across a dress I think is gorgeous, or a cool idea for a flower arrangement. I can “like” these Pins, even if I don’t see any reason to RePin them to my own boards.
You can also Comment on a Pin. This is just what it sounds like. You can comment on a Pin that’s yours or on someone else’s Pin, and you can comment whether or not you are “liking” and/or RePinning the Pin. It’s just a good way to increase interaction. It could be a comment as simple as, “Mmmm….looks good.” On a controversial or informative pin it could be a full-fledged discussion-type comment. Or it could be a question. “Have you tried this?” “How did it work for you?” “Is that green paint?” Whatever! Just remember that it’s public, and play nice. 🙂
