I don’t have some huge “miracle pill”-type idea, like how to lose 100 pounds or make your kids want to tidy their rooms (don’t I wish!), but sometimes it’s the little things that make a difference, right? So here’s a little thing that works for me when it comes to reading magazines.
Reading Magazines – Tip for Efficiency
I used to essentially read all of my magazines twice – once to sit down and actually read the magazine, and again to try to remember what I had seen in it that I wanted to save. Huge time-waster!
Instead, I started putting a sticky note on the front of the magazine before I ever read it. As I come across a website I want to visit, or something I can quickly make note of, I jot it on the sticky note. As I come across a recipe I need to copy, a tip that will require a longer note, or a page I want to tear out and save, I note the page number.
When I’m ready to go back and copy/tear, I instantly know what I’m looking for and don’t end up re-reading the whole magazine to find it.
Great idea! I hate having to thumb back through the whole magazine to find the one thing I wanted to remember. Hope you have a wonderful day!
This is a really good idea. I have finally started folding back magazine pages I want to return to, and marking up articles with a pen so when I go back later I can figure out why I folded the page back 🙂 Just like you, I was having to read the entire article again to figure out just what it was that so intrigued me the first time 😉
Great idea! I have the same problem. Sticky notes are one of the greatest inventions. 🙂
I totally agree! I use sticky notes (and binders) for practically everything. 🙂
