I really like the idea of keeping my current (and just-finished) reading in the sidebar here. And I may still try to keep a few of the stand-out books in the sidebar. But I’ve discovered that I just can’t keep up with keeping that list up-to-date. Instead, I’m going to try making a single post, near the beginning of each month, summarizing what I’m reading or have just finished over the past month. As the holidays were so full of holiday-related posts, I didn’t get started yet. (Didn’t want to totally overload you!) So this first post contains books I’ve been reading over the past several months.
(Also note that I’m notoriously awful about keeping multiple books going at one time. Often, this means that one or two of them will stretch out for a very long time and will, therefore, keep popping up month after month.) So…in no particular order, and probably not exhaustively, here is what I have read and/or am reading:
- Setting Limits with Your Strong-Willed Child
(not impressive)
- Try and Make Me!
(much more useful)
- The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
- Tales from the Arabian Nights
- The Mindful Way through Depression
(Yes, still. I have got to finish this one!)
- The Improvisational Cook
(The copy I read is the older edition, though.)
- The Elements of Cooking
- Shelter for the Spirit
- Gluten-Free Girl and the Chef
- Whole Grains Every Day, Every Way
- The Goodness of God
- When It Hurts to Grow
- Bringing Up Kids Without Tearing Them Down
- A Princess of Landover
- Traditional Card Techniques
- Punch Your Art Out 3
- John Bunyan (Christian Encounters Series)
- Kids Flag Page
- Gluten-Free Baking (CIA)
I too have lots of books going at the same time and I hate that. Sometimes I never finish them. I just put 4 books on hold at the library and am reading 2 so I guess I haven’t learned my lesson. I look forward to your review of the above books, especially “When it Hurts to Grow” and the cooking books!
