What is “Computer Information” About?
“Computer information” is all of the bits of information you might need to keep track of in relation to your computer’s hardware and software. Brand names, model numbers, serial numbers, registration codes, etc. There’s nothing particularly complicated about it, but it can be helpful to have it all written down in one place.
A list format is probably sufficient, although you may want to keep two separate lists, one for hardware and one for software. You’d just write something like:
Computer
Brand
Model
Serial NumberPrinter…
As always, you’ll want to be sure to keep this wherever makes the most sense for you. (If you have a home management binder, that’s probably the logical place for this, for most people.)
STEP 1: Decide where to keep your computer information, and set up a list (or lists) for it.
STEP 2: Write down whatever information you have readily accessible. (You’ll particularly want to be sure you take the time to jot down serial numbers off of your major hardware.)
