Growth from A to Z
You may or may not have caught my post a couple weeks ago indicating that I’m participating this month in a blogging challenge: a post every day in April, except the last four Sundays, one for every letter of the alphabet. The theme I chose is “growth.” Why? It’s broadly relevant.
Last year, my “one word” for the year was GROW. I chose it, in part, because it has so many meaningful synonyms:
- abound
- become
- branch out
- build
- burst forth
- cultivate
- develop
- expand
- flourish
- germinate
- increase
- mature
- produce
- propagate
- ripen
- rise
- spring up
- stretch
- thrive
(Thank you, Thesaurus.com.) And for those of us who are Christians, growth is synonymous with sanctification, as well.
A – All the Things
Besides the fact that there are many different ways that growth can manifest, there are many areas in which we can grow! And this is what we’re going to capitalize on this month. Hence the silly title of today’s post: “all the things.” This series is going to touch on a lot of different things we can grow in, from character traits such as joy and grace, to practical skills like cooking and organizing, to stretching ourselves in areas such as reading and art.
A few of these posts might not apply to you, and that’s okay. Have fun with the things that are fun, let yourself be challenged by the areas that are edifying for you, and skip the rest (or pass them on to someone you think would be blessed by them).
One last thing: When I see this kind of series or challenge, I’m always curious about the rest of the posts in the series, so throughout the month I’ll be updating the list below to serve as a sort of “table of contents” for these A to Z posts.
