We all know that one of the most frugal ways to get attractive, contemporary furniture is to buy pieces from the thrift stores, yard sales, Craigslist, etc. and refurbish them.  But I think the best “rags-to-riches” furniture tale I’ve ever seen is this coffee table update from Living with Lindsay.  This was an amazingly tacky, gaudy table before, and it is an exceptionally beautiful piece afterward.  Check out the before and after!  (Now if I could just “see” an end product like that in raw material like that!)
