Gifts for guys really stretch my frugality muscles! Guys sure do like their toys – and their toys are usually not inexpensive: Dodge Charger accessories (or the Dodge Charger itself!), iPod, bandsaw – these are the types of things that often make their “wish lists.” Not exactly the most frugal purchases, or the most easily substituted with homemade goods. I’m still pondering this one, trying to come up with some good alternatives. (Have you noticed that most of the crafts for men are junky things a preschooler would make for Dad for Father’s Day, and not something he would keep around except that the 3-year-old did make it?) That concept of toys, though, is one train of thought that can produce some promising possibilities. Not “toys” like a new gas-powered chainsaw – toys like, well, toys. All of the men in my life like to play with unusual, gadgety, or active toys. This was brought to mind when I asked some online friends what they recommend as guy gifts and one suggested marshmallow guns. (Think pea shooter on steroids.)
(Mom or Bekah, if you’re reading this, no idea stealing, and don’t mention anything to the men in our life, because I just might use this one!)
Any other frugal gift suggestions for men would be appreciated, as well – just leave them in the comments. 🙂
Hi Rachel!
If the guys like gadgets at all, Thinkgeek is the place.

So much cool stuff, including items for tight budgets.
Thanks, Mike. I have only had a chance to skim the site, so far, but I added it to my bookmarks so I can find it later. It looks pretty cool!
