If you’ve been following Titus 2 Homemaker for a while, you know that I was diagnosed with a gluten intolerance just before my youngest daughter was born, so…a little over three years ago. But after my son was born, I started to have some additional digestive issues, and we’ve determined that ‘most anything starchy gives me trouble. That means no grains. (Also no potatoes, limited seeds/nuts, etc.) That is hard.
I’ve been really struggling to get enough food, because it kinda feels like there’s nothing left. (There is, of course. But there’s so much I can’t eat it can make it tough to think of the things I can.)
Just recently, though, I’ve come across a few resources that can make this a whole lot easier – by providing lots of ideas! The Paleo Approach and The Paleo Approach Cookbook are a couple of them – and you’ll be seeing reviews for those very soon. But this week I wanted to be sure you know just how many special-diet-friendly resources there are in this Healthy Living Bundle.
A lot.
Really.
I roughly counted up the recipes in the two major recipe sections (and a few from the menu planning section). I actually forgot completely to even look at the Seasonal section when I was counting, and it has a whole book just about doing Thanksgiving grain-free! But just based on the ones I counted, there are over 1500 recipes in this bundle!!
Those 1500 recipes include over 1000 gluten-free recipes.
And those 1000 gluten-free recipes include over 500 grain-free recipes.
(It’s probably a lot more than 500, but I didn’t really take the time to analyze the recipes to sort it out. There were over 500 that were specifically from recipe books, chapters, or sections designated as grain-free.)
That’s a lot of ideas. Even if I only like 10% of them, that’s still at least 50 bran-new recipes! And many of them are for things like tortillas or wraps, breads, etc. – things that, if you could just find one or two really good ones, would really open up the meal possibilities. (I can’t tell you how many of our recipes have been taken out of commission purely for want of a decent tortilla that I can eat.)
Even better, some of those writing for the menu planning/budgeting section are eating with dietary challenges, as well, so those resources are written from a place of understanding. It’s just a really refreshing collection of resources for those of us with tricky diet issues!
Be sure to check it out — and share your own favorite resources in the comments.
[UPDATE 12/29: This bundle was originally available for about a week back in September. It is now back for a reprise for 48 hours ONLY (12/29-12/30), so snatch it up if you want it!]
