I’m excited to introduce to you my 2011 Holiday Gift Idea series. Here’s what it will look like:
Starting next week, I will emphasize a particular category or categories of gift each week. The week will begin with a general idea post, offering suggestions for gifts that fit the week’s theme. Most weeks will end with a giveaway. Depending on the gift type(s), some weeks will have other posts that further develop the theme. Many of these will also link you to my Holiday Gift Guide. Items featured in the gift guide will generally have more thorough reviews there than what you see of them when they’re referenced here.
Our themes are:
- Crafted Gifts
- Crafty Gifts (that is, gifts that encourage the recipient to craft)
- Unique/Unusual Gifts
- Gifts for Men
- Gifts for Women
- Gifts for Kids (and Gifts for Kids to Make for Others)
- Books as Gifts/Gifts for Book Lovers
- Personalized Gifts
- Gift Baskets
- Last-Minute Gifts
The series will culminate at Christmas, with a virtual “Birthday Party for Jesus.” This is an online baby shower. One giveaway winner will win a baby shower; a second prize package will be donated to Abba Care, a crisis pregnancy center here in my town. Items provided by sponsors for the Birthday Party for Jesus will also be featured in the Gift Guide, in the “Gifts for Babies” category.
I think this is going to be a lot of fun. Hopefully you’ll get lots of great ideas (either my own, or yours that my posts help inspire), and come back and win some great prizes!
