I challenge you to:
- Eat a meatless meal. (Vegetarian Day, 1)
- Read a classic you’ve never read. (Great Books Week, 2-8)
- Smile at a stranger. (Smile Day, 7)
- Listen music. (Music Day, 8)
- Bake cupcakes in honor of the babies that were never born. (Pro-Life Cupcake Day, 9)
- Do something special for your pastor. (Pastor Appreciation Day, 9; Pastoral Care Week, 23-29)
- If you’re in the U.S., work with the metric system for a day. (Metric Week, 9-15) (The rest of you are already in countries smart enough to do this every day!)
- Help your children set goals for themselves. (Kids’ Goal-Setting Week, 10-14)
- Avoid complaining. (Grouch Day, 15)
- Do something special for your husband. (Bosses’ Day, 17)
- Decorate a cake. (Cake Decorating Day, 17)
- Get all the excess icons off of your computer “desktop.” (Clean Your Virtual Desktop Day, 17)
- Donate to your local food bank. (Food Bank Week, 16-22)
- Ask yourself whether your life and your stated priorities match. (Evaluate Your Life Day, 19)
- Buy something local. (Support Your Local Chamber of Commerce, 20)
- Send a card to your mother-in-law. (Mother-in-Law Day, 23)
- Make a checklist. (Checklist Day, 30) (If you create a new checklist that many people might be able to benefit from, and you’re a blogger, consider posting it to your blog.)
- If your church has a library, donate a book, or donate your time to get it in order. (Church Library Month)
- Buy something fair trade. (Fair Trade Month)
- Visit a local attraction you’ve never been to because you “can go anytime.” (Go on a Field Trip Month)
If they are on your list, this might be a good month to focus on these goals:
- Add vegetarian meals to your repertoire. (Vegetarian Day, 1)
- Cut back on salt and/or exchange your table salt for unrefined sea salt. (No Salt Week, 3-10)
- Have health tests done. (Health Literacy Month)
- Try new baking recipes and/or decorate your house. (Bake & Decorate Month)
- Read something on your to-read list. (Book Month)
- Make an appointment with the dentist. (Dental Hygiene Month)
- Get your medical information in order. (Organize Your Medical Information Month)
- Work on growing your business. (Self-Promotion Month)
- Eat more greens. (Spinach Lovers’ Month)
