I challenge you to:
- Learn something new. (Self-University Week, 1-7)
- Spend a day doing nothing “needful” that isn’t absolutely essential. (Lazy Mom’s Day, 2)
- Read the Constitution to your children. (Constitution Week, 17-23)
- Turn off the television and read to your children instead. (Turn Off Week, 18-24) (This also happens to be Tolkien Week, so you could read The Hobbit while your TV is off.)
- Write your husband a love letter. (Love Note Day, 23)
- Read a book! (READ in America Day, 24)
- Help your children create a craft project or write a story. (Keep Kids Creative Week, 25-Oct. 1)
- Eat dinner together as a family. (Family Day, 26)
- Do something helpful for a neighbor, or take the neighbors a treat. (Good Neighbor Day, 28)
- If you don’t already have one, get a library card. If you do, pay off any fines you have. (Library Card Signup Month)
- Set aside a bit of time with each of your children individually. (One-on-One Month)
- Get together with a friend. (Women’s Friendship Month)
If they are on your list, this might be a good month to focus on these goals:
- Try a new fruit or vegetable, or increase the number of servings you’re eating. (Fruit/Veggies Month)
- Update your resumé. (Update Your Resumé Month.)
- Develop a new habit and/or break an old one. (Self-Improvement Month)
