One of the best things I’ve ever done was get a rolling crate for our library runs.
It started when Sophia was a preschooler. She was notorious for being difficult – trying to run off, fighting me, etc. I really needed to be physically holding onto her at all times. Except I was usually juggling 20-30 books when we went to the library. It was awfully tricky to hang onto all those books while holding onto her hand as she pulled away from me.
Carrying her while I was carrying all those books clearly didn’t work, either! Finally, it occurred to me that I could carry the child if I could pull the books. So I got something like this:
This definitely works for us, and we’ve gotten comments about it a number of times, so maybe someone else can use this tip!
(Unfortunately, our cart just broke, and I have to buy a new one!)
This looks like an awesome cart. Innovative product.
what a fantastic idea! thanks!
Cool! I have sometimes used a shoulder bag that way, but we don’t usually get quite so many books at a time.
This may save wear and tear on your cart: I have one of these carts (from Staples) and I also bought a plastic file box that fits down inside it (just the right size). Now, if you want to fold the cart up all the time, it may not be really convenient for you, but if you leave it set up with the books in it, that could work well for you. Then later, you have an extra hanging file box!
Oh, that’s a good idea. I think ours got more or less closed in our back door. 🙁
We have two of these! Love them. They are packed before and after each library run and we also usually have a few tough bags full of books as well. We go crazy at the library!!
