We were provided with the cars you see in the post below, to facilitate our review. As always, all opinions expressed here are entirely my own (and those of my family members).
I remember hearing about Modarri cars back when they were running a Kickstarter campaign to get off the ground. As it turns out, they raised 300% of the needed funds through that Kickstarter campaign, and lauched in February of this year!
What Makes Modarri Cars Different?
Modarri toy cars are pretty unique. Not only do they have realistic steering and suspension, so they feel “real” when you drive them with your fingers, they’re modular: you can take them apart and mix-and-match the pieces.
The mechanism for disassembly is pretty brilliant, too. The screws do not come out. They remain attached to the pieces you’ve removed, so there are never tiny screws lying around waiting for the big kids to lose them — or the smaller kids to find them! Hex drivers are included, to match the little screws.
More About Modarri
These cars have a pretty broad appeal — at least at my house. Officially, they’re recommended for ages 8 and up. But my toddler loves them. (Of course, they’re not recommended for him because of the small parts. And obviously he doesn’t get to take them apart. But they’re cars! We can’t keep him from driving them around!) My husband loves them. And so does everyone else in between.
My husband did note that the suspension is a little on the loose side. He and my oldest say that results in the front wheels’ having some difficulty remaining parallel, which can occasionally make it a little tricky to steer the cars, especially in reverse. But that hasn’t hampered their enjoyment at all.
The cars are available individually:
Or in 3-packs:
(The cars in the three-pack are the same three models, but they’re different colors than the single cars.)
There’s even a “DIY” car that you can paint yourself!
(My photos are of the cars in their internet packaging. The pictures just above, of the single car and the three-car package, are what the retail packaging looks like — so that’s what you’ll be looking for if you’re buying at the local store.)
Ariel and her daddy chose this teal for their car.

Our son loves to build things so the fact that you can build this on your own is my favorite feature.
My nephew loves to put things together so these cars would be the perfect Christmas gift for him!
Doesn’t need batteries!
Ooh — good one!
