I’m not sure if this counts as “trying a new snack recipe,” but I did try something else new yesterday that worked pretty well. I bought a carton of Silk dark chocolate almond milk and, on a whim, decided to try processing some of it in my ice cream maker. It worked great!
The resultant “product” has more of a sorbet texture than a true ice cream texture, but it’s good. And super-super-easy, since I didn’t add anything to it. I literally just shook the carton, opened it up, and poured the “milk” into the ice cream maker.
(One important note: I only filled the ice cream maker about halfway – mostly because it was an experiment and I didn’t want to waste all of the almond milk if it didn’t work! But it expanded about that much and pretty well filled the ice cream maker by the time it finished 20-25 minutes later. So if you try this, don’t overfill!)
