I got several sewing projects knocked out last week. I sewed a skirt, a tablecloth, and two dozen coordinating napkins (along with three beanbags and part of a bathrobe toward Christmas gifts for Ariel). The plaid tablecloth and napkin sets can be seen here:
When I went to put them away, I was excited to make another discovery. My mom gave me a tablecloth for Christmas, which I had completely forgotten about. (The plan was to not use a tablecloth until I got some clear vinyl to put over it, as Ariel will make such a mess of it so fast that I would otherwise be washing the tablecloth 2-3 times a day. Then our Wal-Mart quit carrying fabric, and I didn’t have easy access to the vinyl.) It’s a light blue cotton/linen blend, with hemstitching. It turns out that either set of napkins I just made will coordinate with it, too!
Ariel was so excited about the tablecloth that we had to put it on right away and use it that night, vinyl or no vinyl. (She enjoys setting the table with “fancy” folded napkins. She cut the rose – with my needlenose pliers’ wire cutter, lol – and put it in the vase, too.)
