As a bibliophile myself, I find gifts specifically for book lovers to be an intriguing category. (I didn’t come up with it myself, though. It was part of another blogger’s gift carnival last year.) If you’re looking for a gift for the avid reader on your list, here are a few ideas:
- books, of course!
- gift certificates to Barnes & Noble, Books-a-Million, Borders, Amazon
, etc.
- perhaps less obvious, gift certificates or points for PaperBackSwap, TitleTrader, BookMooch, etc.
- membership to LibraryThing (or, if they already have one, a scanner to go with it)
- The Little Guide to Your Well-Read Life
- NoteTabs
(Right now, Avery even has a coupon for these! Print it here.)
- Levenger readers’ goodies.
- reading journal
- bookmarks (Think outside the standard bookmark box. There are corner bookmarks, magnetic bookmarks, bookmarks with multiple ribbons, etc. I especially like these elastic ones
.)
- book light/reading lamp
- for the techie reader: Kindle
or other ebook reader
When shopping retail online, remember to go through a site like Cashbaq, Big Crumbs, ShopatHome, Ebates, or Mr. Rebates, so you can get a percentage back! Especially if you’re buying a lot of gifts, this can really add up at this time of year. (If you have the time, compare them. Different ones have different retailers, and some that overlap have varying cash back amounts for the same one.)
