Do you still have Christmas shopping to do? If, like me, you like the avoid the craziness downtown and do a lot of your shopping online, this is a great time to try out an Amazon Prime membership. One annual fee gives you “free” (I put free in quotes, because really you’ve already paid for the shipping with your fee) 2-day shipping on all of the items that are available for Super Saver shipping for non-members. (And this is fast shipping! Depending on which warehouse they ship from, it can get there even sooner than 2 days. Once, I ordered something in the afternoon, and it was on my doorstep before 10:00 the next morning.)
There are other perks with an Amazon Prime membership, too, though – most notably, some digital ones. You can borrow many Kindle books (like mine!) free, to see if you like them before you buy. And you get instant video streaming. (I’m not really sure how that one works.)
And now you can earn SwagBucks when you shop at Amazon! After joining SwagBucks (if you aren’t already signed up), just visit the “Shop & Earn” page and then just click through to Amazon. The SwagBucks are doubled for the next week or two, for the holidays, so you’ll earn 6SB/$1! (I am so excited about this, as I shop at Amazon a lot, and before now, I couldn’t ever earn points or anything along those lines for shopping Amazon.)
If you’re not already signed up with SwagBucks, you definitely should be – you can earn points just for running the web searches you’d be doing anyway. (And you can trade them in for Amazon gift codes. 🙂 Okay, and other stuff. But I always get Amazon gift codes.) Older search-and-earn engines drove me crazy with lousy search results and glitchy toolbars, but this has worked beautifully for me for a couple years now. I can even add the SwagBucks search to Firefox’s search bar, so that on the rare occasion I need a special type of search I can easily switch over to something else, and then switch right back the next time.
