I have always found women to be easier to choose gifts for than men. (Maybe that’s just because I’m a woman?) Nevertheless, if you’re drawing a blank, try some of these ideas as a starting point.
- decorative items for their homes (The stuff from DaySpring
/Blessings Unlimited is great, because it’s Scripture-based.)
- chocolate
- apron
- jewelry or other accessories (This way you don’t have to worry about knowing her size – or offending her if you get it wrong.)
- stationery (Again, Blessings Unlimited/DaySpring
are good sources.)
- craft supplies
- hairthings
- As an exception to the “don’t dare go for clothing” rule, if she’s pregnant, you could try one of Reebok’s new maternity NFL tees
. (They just came out with these this year!)
- a service, such as MissusSmartyPants, Fashion Fit Formula, or color analysis
- journal
- recipes/cookbooks
- kitchen gadgets
- good tea with a pretty teacup
- gift certificate/card (This is especially good if it’s to someplace she wouldn’t normally spend money on for herself. Or, if she’s like me, to the thrift store! lol)
- books, on a topic of interest to her, or specifically for women’s interest
When shopping retail online, remember to go through a site like Cashbaq, Big Crumbs, ShopatHome, Ebates, or Mr. Rebates, so you can get a percentage back! Especially if you’re buying a lot of gifts, this can really add up at this time of year. (If you have the time, compare them. Different ones have different retailers, and some that overlap have varying cash back amounts for the same one.)
