I always thought I knew how to iron a shirt “properly” until someone brought to my attention about a year ago that I was using the wrong end of the ironing board. I imagine many of my readers — perhaps most — already know this, but for those who may not…
It’s far more efficient to iron a shirt on the square end of the board than on the pointed end. When I first heard this, I thought that surely it wouldn’t fit properly! But it fits beautifully, and requires less readjusting during the ironing process than the use of the pointed end of the board.

And to think I’ve been ironing wron my whole life! It does make sense though, especially with the smaller ironing board I have. My mom will be shocked to learn she’s wrong too! She’s a very firm believer in all of her”systems”…
good thing only hubby has clothes need to get ironed…and he does all the ironing =)
That sounds like an even better “works for me” tip! 🙂
