I have never bought a piece of furniture in my life (with the exception of a few pieces of that melamine, build-it-yourself stuff for bookcases and a couple computer desks); all of our furniture has been given to us. (Some of it is really nice, too – what a blessing!) I would, however, someday like to have some “real” wooden dining room furniture and, having never purchased furniture, wouldn’t really know how to best shop. A friend mentioned discount furniture stores – she said something about furniture consignment places. I’ve never seen these, though. So, anyone have good ideas for inexpensive furniture, if the thrift stores don’t have anything suitable?
