The Sewing Dork hosted a Make it and Mail It (Did you know if you abbreviate that, you get MIAMI?) exchange last month. I was a bit behind getting mine out, since we were sick the week of Thanksgiving, and my camera batteries died, so I had issues with pictures. My project went out to Leslie at Mamma Tortilla, and hopefully she will post about it soon so you can see a picture. My camera batteries were dead, and I didn’t have new ones at the time, so it was either take a picture or actually get it to Leslie! [UPDATE: Here are Leslie’s pictures.]
Meanwhile, my gift, from Melissa (whose photography looks wonderful, by the way) at The Date Your Husband Project, arrived on time. 🙂 It came wrapped in this fabric. The wrapping was very clever! Melissa wrapped the gift in this fabric, laid her card, in an addressed envelope, on top, and then wrapped the whole thing up in clear packing tape. So the fabric was actually what showed, but it got here just fine because of the address on the card. 🙂 (Took a while to get all the tape off, though. lol)

When I opened it up, I saw this:

Aren’t these pretty fabrics? And here’s the whole package, with the card:

You probably can’t read it this size. The card says that Melissa’s focus this year is gifts that are simple but needed. Now, I am not one for handkerchiefs more major nose-blowing (too much of a wimp, I guess), but they’re perfect for a nose that’s perpetually runny – which mine seems to be every time I get outside in the cold! So I put these to use right away when we went to the championship football game at Michael’s high school. 🙂 They’re great for tucking into my purse and/or my coat pocket. And having multiple colors means I can use one for my girls and still know which one I wiped the toddler’s nose on and which one I used myself.
So thank you, Melissa! They are beautiful and will be used. 🙂
Oh, and you know what? I think that participating in this exchange may allow me to cross another item off of the 101/1001 list!
I’m so glad you enjoyed them! Sorry about all the tape=) I’m having dinner with Leslie tonight and will be sure to take my camera so she can post about your gift! Melissa West
