I’m sure you’ve all realized by now that Titus 2:3-5 is a pretty strong theme here at Titus 2 Homemaker! This passage tells us what, as older women, we should be teaching the younger women. (Just to clarify, I consider myself firmly in the category of middle woman. 🙂 Some of you are teaching me, and I am teaching some, as well.) Unfortunately, there is a shortage of resources available for teaching these to our youngest little ladies – our young daughters!
Cindy Voss has set out to correct that with her picture book, Mommy…Why? Each chapter in this storybook tells of an experience in the life of young Sarah, along with the resulting conversation with her mother. The experiences and conversations illustrate the phrases of Titus 2:3-5, one per chapter. Loving their children, loving their husbands, being self-controlled, being pure, being busy at home, being kind, and being subject to their own husbands are all addressed in the context of a household.
The mama in this story is certainly a better woman than I am, ‘though she is not perfect to the point of unrealistic idealism or saccharine sweetness. It’s believable; it’s just – well, the-best-woman-you-know realistic rather than (for many/most of us) me believable. It’s actually a good reminder for me, and I think it will be good for me to read it to my girls!
The book is illustrated in full color with Bethany Voss’s lovely drawings.
Excellent resource!

Oh, and FYI, I recommend against searching the title on Google images. It brings up graphic abortion images.
