I stumbled upon Overcoming Adrenal Fatigue through a happy “accident.” I was looking for my own book on Amazon, when I came across a new whole foods cookbook (which you’ll see a bit later). Upon looking that up, I found this one, published by the same company. I’m very impressed with it.
Of course, I’m not a medical professional of any kind. However, based on my own experience and studies, as someone who has been personally struggling with adrenal fatigue for about a decade, the content seems to be quite sound. And it’s very practical.
Chapter by chapter, the author walks the reader through the symptoms to look for, tests to ask for, and treatments to consider – all in plain English.
Diagrams show you what cortisol rhythms should look like and where the related bodily organs reside. A questionnaire helps you determine whether this is something that might be affecting you.
Perhaps most significant is the fact that the author has found connections between a large number of other diseases/conditions and adrenal fatigue.
(In fact, her own original diagnosis was “multiple sclerosis” – completely reversed when her adrenals were healed and her hormones balanced!) If you have been diagnosed with any chronic illness or hormone-related issue, you can probably learn something relevant from this book.
It’s a straightforward, no-fluff read that any literate adult should be able to follow. (That is, it isn’t full of “medicalese.”)
Absolutely recommended!
Disclosure: I received a copy of the book from the publisher to facilitate this review. As always, all opinions are entirely my own.
