Like any language program, I’m sure that Rosetta Stone would be more effective for us if we used it more consistently! We’re still working out the kinks of our school system, schedule, etc. For me, the biggest difficulty is schedule. For Ariel, the greatest difficulty is accessibility. The software is installed on my computer, so she can’t use it if I’m using the computer. We tried to install it on our “extra” computer instead, but we’re having technical difficulties with that machine. I’m still hoping that we’ll be able to make that switch at some point, but for the moment it isn’t an option.
Still, we have seen a little bit of learning take place, even from just the first few lessons.
We do have one weird issue. The headphones are really, really loud. As best we can tell, they operate independently of our regular sound settings, and they really blare. I haven’t yet figured out how to correct that, so we wear the headphones just in front of our ears, rather than squarely over them.
