We watched A Raisin in the Sun last night. It was pretty good (although their family dynamic wasn’t the best example, from a Biblical perspective). The mother put forth a sobering perspective on life insurance policies. The family was so excited because they had this insurance check coming, and it was a vast amount of money for them.
They had all of these plans for what they thought it should be used for. Then the check actually arrived and she said it was, “someone’s estimation of what my Willie was worth.” Wow. Kind of took the wind out of their sails (for a while, at least). I know my hubby is worth far more to me than his life insurance policy!
