Thrive Life’s freeze-dried fruit is one of my children’s favorite Thrive Life product categories. They love to eat these for snacks. I’m not sure if we’ve had the strawberries long enough (in our house, I mean) for the kids to try those, but I know they like the blueberries, grapes, apples, bananas, pineapple…
And they’re such a great last-minute option for things. Sophia was making oatmeal the other day as a spur of the moment thing, and was able to put bananas and blueberries in because we had Thrive Life stuff on the shelf (and no worries about the rest of it going bad!)
If you’re willing to take a few minutes to crush it into powder (or if you’re saving the powder from the bottoms of the containers), you have some other options, too. I brainstormed a whole list a while back of things I wanted to try with fruit powders and then I couldn’t find fruit powder. So I’m looking forward to trying some of these!
This recipe, for instance, uses powdered fruits and vegetables to color frosting. I assume it doesn’t really flavor the frosting, though, since they use spinach for green! But I’m very interested in trying frosting with a higher percentage of fruit powder, in order to create strawberry frosting, blueberry frosting, etc.
