The Ananda Apothecary is a shop specializing in high-quality essential oils and accessories. Because their essential oils are therapeutic grade, they are not cheap (you don’t want cheap oils for therapeutic purposes!), but they are less expensive than what you’d pay through a multi-level marketing company, because you aren’t helping to cover the MLM tiers and perks with your payments.
They have a wide selection, and provide a lot of information about each oil on their site.
They also sell a few items that aren’t strictly/purely essential oils, like this “Lullaby” blend.
Lullaby
“Lullaby” is a blend of French Lavender and Roman Chamomile in a base of sweet almond oil. This soothing blend is perfect for babies (and great for bedtime)! French Lavender and Roman Chamomile are both mild, and you don’t have to worry about getting it safely diluted for baby’s tender skin, because it’s already blended into a base/carrier oil.
I’m looking forward to using this for our new little one for bedtime massages. (My toddler seems to just think I’m trying to tickle her when I rub her back, so we’ve used this a little for her, but not much.)
I have found it useful for other purposes, as well. I had a headache one evening, and no lavender in the house. I don’t like to take Tylenol, anyway, but I especially prefer to avoid it, if possible, while I’m pregnant. Remembering that this blend includes lavender, I rubbed a little of this on my temples. In less than five minutes, my headache was gone. So it has its uses for the new mama, too, not just the baby. 🙂
You only need a few drops at a time, so a little goes a long way!
Disclosure: Ananda provided me with a bottle of Lullaby to facilitate my review as part of the Naturally Healthy Baby celebration. As always, all opinions expressed here are entirely my own.
