We are such oddballs. I mean, I am the woman who wishes I could find some diet pills that work by increasing one’s appetite and/or causing one to gain weight. It doesn’t get much weirder than that. But I wanted to tell you about something a bit unusual that I did this week and am pretty happy about: I framed Ariel’s morning list.
Now, I know it must sound weird that I went to the trouble to frame her morning list (and bedtime list and calendar, actually), but I am pleased with the way it turned out. It has a much more “finished” look for hanging in her bedroom than just sticking a plain piece of paper up.
She has a morning list, a bedtime list, and a small calendar, so what I did was print the morning list and bedtime list each on half a sheet of paper, then purchase a (poster) frame (from Michael’s, on sale) that was large enough for all three items. I bought a piece of black poster board, cut it to size, and mounted the lists to it, with plenty of space in between for the calendar. I then inserted this into the frame, with a hook made from a paper clip hooked over the top. (This is a little hard to explain. It’s basically an S-hook, and it’s hooked over the picture and the glass, but under the frame itself.) The calendar hangs on this hook, and that way it’s outside the glass so the pages can be turned and marked. Eventually, the plan is to sand down the frame and paint it hot pink, since that’s the color Ariel wants her room decorated in. But we haven’t gotten that far yet.
And as soon as I track down the camera so I can download it, I’ll show you a picture. Here’s the photo. (I apologize for the awful flash glare. I tried turning the flash off, and the results were even worse.)
