Crunchies is a brand of whole-food snacks. The line consists of freeze-dried fruits and vegetables, for crunchable snacking without any junk. There are a number of varieties, to accommodate varying tastes.
- blueberries
- mango
- strawberry
- strawberry-banana
- raspberries
- pineapple
- mixed fruit (strawberries, blueberries, apple, banana)
- grapes
- cinnamon-apple
- beets
The texture of each is a little different, just depending on the fruit they come from. For instance, the strawberries have a “drier” feel, while the grapes have a little more “sticky” to them. It’s a little hard to describe. They’re fully dried, but you can tell there’s more sugar in grapes than strawberries.
They all come in zip-top packages, so if you have any left over, you can reseal the package.
The obvious way to consume these is as an out-of-hand snack — and they went fast at my house when we ate them this way! But think outside the box, too. You can use them to top yogurt. Add them to granola. Grind them into powder and use the powder to flavor things like yogurt, frosting, etc. (or mix with creamed butter and spread on bagels or toast). Toss them on a salad. Or dip them in chocolate. The mangoes are shaped in such a way that they work especially well for this.
These would be a fun party food — a little bit fancy, but overall pretty healthy. (I just melted dark chocolate chips and dipped these.)
You may be wondering if you can find Crunchies on Amazon, and the answer is yes, but, it’s hit-or-miss. You’ll find some, but you won’t find the full selection. For that, you’ll need to either shop the Crunchies site, or use the store locator to find a local source.
