We are receiving a small bonus for sharing this with you this week. Regardless, all opinions shared here are entirely our own.
We signed up a few months ago for a service called Thrively. It’s free. First, each child completes a questionnaire, designed to determine which areas are his areas of strength. (Maybe you’ve heard of multiple intelligences – like creative intelligence, physical intelligence, etc. The idea is to determine which ones your child is strong in.) This is helpful in and of itself! It helps you to know what your child’s strengths and interests are.
It’s been a little while since we did it, so I don’t remember for sure, but I think it took about 20 minutes for each child. The two older girls had no trouble at all filling it out. The three-year-old was a little trickier, but they all seemed to produce pretty accurate results. (More so for the older girls, of course, and slightly less so for the 3-year-old.)
But then it goes a step farther. It shows you local activities that are related to those particular areas. The site is in its infancy but I can imagine it will only get better as it grows!
