I have never heard of fire glass before, but this stuff looks kind of neat.  As best I can tell, it is essentially a replacement for the fake logs that go in a gas fireplace.  It supposedly concentrates the heat better.  It’s really beautiful, too!

I can’t tell exactly how it works, though.  Apparently it is used to “cover” gas pipes, and I guess you just pile it in?
