I don’t have a divider for this emergency/preparedness section yet, because I can’t find an image I like. (If you come across a vintage-style black-and-white image of a burning candle in a candlestick or a hurricane lantern or something similar, please let me know.)
She is Not Afraid of Snow
(Emergency)
This section is accompanied by the following verse:
“She is not afraid of snow for her household, for all her household is clothed with scarlet.” – Prov. 31:21
The first thing in here is a page of emergency numbers. It has a bright red border, and an extra, colored tab at the top of the page so I can locate it quickly.
Then I have a housesitter information page and a pet sitter information page (also from Homemaker’s Helper; a babysitter information page is also available, but it isn’t currently relevant for us).
The next page is a printout of the “72 Hour Kit” FlyLady sent out recently. It describes the things that each family, and each family member should have ready in case of evacuation. These items should be sufficient to sustain the family for three days. Each individual’s items are in a backpack, and each one is responsible, in case of evacuation, for making sure he’s wearing shoes and for grabbing his backpack and a gallon of water. (If you have little ones, buddy them up with older children, if possible.) There is also a separate “family kit.”
The next page is a list of things to keep in the car, adapted from The Frantic Woman’s Guide to Life.
