Many of us require additional foot support for a variety of reasons. Flat feet are a common reason. I actually have the opposite problem; my arches are so high they fall. When I’m on my feet all day chasing little ones, it can be helpful to have my feet well-supported.
Kendall Gelthotics are a comfortable, affordable solution. Made of “squishy” silicone, they look a little like J’s, or like question marks (without the dots). These are easily slipped inside your shoes, and hug your heels and fit into your arches, without changing the fit of your shoes.
They’re semi-sticky on the bottom, to help hold them in place, and this sticky may be rinsed, if necessary. (Like after your four-year-old plays with the gelthotics and gets them covered with lint. Not that I would know anything about that. 😉 )
Ideally, they’re placed under the insoles of the shoe. I recommend this, as I placed them in some shoes that didn’t have insoles I could pull out, and I had some difficulty with mine shifting as I tried to get the shoes on. (They were still fine during wear – it was just a little trickier to get the shoes on without shoving the gelthotics aside in the process.)
One of the things I appreciate is that these can be moved from shoe to shoe. As it’s better to keep them under the insoles, I wouldn’t recommend moving them around regularly! I would recommend having a pair for each pair of shoes you regularly wear, so they can just stay put. But if you replace your shoes, you can transfer the gelthotics to the new pair of shoes. And if you have a special-occasion shoe you rarely wear, you can just “borrow” the gelthotics from your regular shoes for the evening. (No need to purchase a new pair of orthotics just for that one formal Christmas dinner!)
These do work in such special-occasion shoes, too. They have a slim profile, so they work in ladies’ dress shoes. They don’t come to your toes, so they can be worn in open-toed shoes. And they’re mostly clear, so they don’t draw attention to themselves. I have tried mine in sneakers, flats, and high-heeled boots, and they have worked in every pair of shoes I’ve tried them in.
Unlike “regular” orthotics, these do not need to be replaced every month or two; they will last a long time. This makes them very cost-effective by comparison.
If you find you need more support than your shoes are providing you, give these a look.

Disclosure: I received a complimentary pair of Kendall Gelthotics to facilitate this review. As always, all opinions are entirely my own.
Do you know where they can be purchased? I have the same issue you do and struggle with plantar facitis. I need to wear shoes all the time or I have lots of trouble. These sound great!
I have flat feet, and workout regularly, with sore results. I would like to try these, as I have found traditional orthotics to be VERY expensive and hard to move from shoe to shoe. Anyhow, thanks for the review of this product. If I don’t win the free pair, I will be ordering them.
I have severe pain in my feet if I am on them for any length of time. I have found that wearing shoes that have proper support really helps. Maybe having these inserts would allow me to wear my other shoes without pain. That would be great!
I am a 49 yr old female and have worked in retail for over 20 yrs over the past year my left heel
has started to have pain in the morning, becoming worse with time, recently my right heel has
begun to hurt and I have started going on line to find treatment. Found this website and checking
it out. I thought before i go see a foot doctor. I could try insoles. Searching the web.
