I’m curious what the preferred method of budgeting is among my readers.  Do you use the envelope method?  Budgeting software?  A piece of paper?  I don’t actually use anything, as I don’t handle any of the finances in our household.  (I buy groceries, and when we need something else, household-wise, I make the actual purchase.  But hubby still does all the budgeting for this.)  My husband just uses a sheet of notebook paper.  He’s really good at juggling things around so that all the right bills get paid at all the right times, even when funds are tight.  I wouldn’t be nearly as good at this!
